Artificial Intelligence Using
The editorial policy of the «Тechnical mechanics» journal regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools is based on the EU AI Act (https://www.europarl.europa.eu/topics/en/topic/artificial-intelligence), as well as on statements by COPE, WAME, JAMA Network, and the recommendations of ICMJE.
The Editorial Board follows this Declaration when evaluating submitted manuscripts. Compliance with its provisions is considered an essential element of academic integrity.
Definition
Artificial intelligence (AI) is defined as a structured set of information technologies capable of generating new content or information that did not previously exist. This may include texts, images, data, models, drawings, and similar outputs.
Ethical Considerations
The Editorial Board recognizes that the use of AI presents challenges for the academic community in terms of maintaining professional ethics, academic integrity, and the protection of intellectual property.
Policy on AI Use
- The use of AI to write the text of scientific articles is unacceptable. Articles whose text is generated by AI are treated as plagiarism and will not be considered.
- AI tools may be used for mechanical or routine tasks, such as organizing bibliographies, compiling lists or tables, or performing automatic coding. In such cases, the use of AI must be explicitly acknowledged in the manuscript, with references to the specific tools employed.
- Any other use of AI in the preparation of scientific articles submitted to the journal is prohibited
Violations and Appeals
Procedures for detecting and confirming violations of academic integrity, handling such violations, and submitting and reviewing appeals in cases of improper AI use are carried out in accordance with the journal’s Procedure for Retracting Published Articles.
